Wild Eye Releasing Targets The Month Of May For Writer/Director Frank Sudol's City Of Rott Animated Film Trilogy

Wild Eye Releasing, with sales and distribution support provided by MVD Entertainment Group, has the complete trilogy of writer/director Frank Sudol’s animated zombie flicks lined up for release on DVD in May.

His 2006 film City of Rott (this will be the director’s cut of the film) owes much to Sam Rami’s Evil Dead and George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead films … zombies, gore, epic, only animated.   Sudol uses, to great effect, a stop-motion style similar to South Park, which makes sense as his first industry paying job was as an “assistant animator” on South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut back in 1998.

The success of his first feature-length film, City of Rott, spawned the 2014 follow-up, City of Rott 2 (available on May 10 on DVD as well), which added new characters to the “Wiseman” saga, including Max who is hell-bent on finding a cure for the Rott Worm Plague before he too is overtaken by the zombie blood lust.

Animated gore, zombie plagues, if one adventure spawned a sequel, then it is only right that a trilogy would be in the offing.   This would none other than City of Rott: Otherworld, which makes its DVD debut on May 24.

Can Max and the kick-ass Sarah find peace, love and happiness in the promised “otherworld,” or will time finally run out?

There is a behind-the-scenes featurette included with City of Rott: Otherworld.
