Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will send forth a three-SKU helping of director Robert Egger’s revenge thriller, The Northman, on June 7.
The ARR is a way-too-quick trip of just 46 days. This quick trip was likely precipitated by the streaming window, so essentially this home entertainment packaged media selection of products is day/date with the Peacock streaming platform … a seemingly counterproductive strategy, or perhaps, even downright destructive to the home entertainment revenue stream.
Box office revenues came in at $33.1 million.
Planned for release are Combo Pack editions for both 4K Ultra HD (with Blu-ray) and Blu-ray (with DVD) formats, plus a stand-alone DVD selection.
Bonus features include commentary from director Robert Egger, deleted and extended scenes and a half-dozen featurettes — “An Ageless Epic,” “The Faces of the Vikings,” “Amleth's Journey to Manhood,” “Shooting the Raid,” “Knattleikr Game” and “A Norse Landscape.”
