Bayview Entertainment Has Selected Oct. 17 For The Domestic Blu-ray Debut Of Aussie Filmmaker Joshua Morris' Bliss Of Evil

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey, @dvdblurayreport
We first heard about director Joshua Morris’ horror treat, Bliss of Evil, back in March of this year.   That’s when the news surfaced that Bayview Entertainment had acquired domestic distribution rights to this Aussie indie film and festival circuit favorite.

When?  When?  When?   We kept checking the release calendar each month for the news and now, much to the delight of genre fans everywhere, Bliss of Evil will be making its Blu-ray debut on Oct. 17, just in time for this year’s Halloween promotional season.

From initial production (filmed in Brisbane, Australia) to its debut on Oct. 17, it has been a two-year odyssey for filmmaker Joshua Morris.  The filming and post work, followed by a full year traveling the festival circuit, building up smash reviews and genre fan awareness worldwide along the way.   The wait is almost over!!!

She’s just the sound engineer at her parent’s warehouse recording studio, nothing special at first glance.  Her name is Isla (Sharnee Tones) and her girlfiend, Nicole/”Nic” (Shanay De Marco), is making use of the facilities to work out the musical kinks with her newly formed band, Prom Night.   Nic has grand plans for the group, that much we know.

That’s your “on the surface” set-up.   Genre fans will immediately recognize the tropes; the classic horror story elements.   Recording studio, that’s the haunted house (haunted mansion, haunted warehouse, haunted insane asylum … pick your poison) and Prom Night, the band doing the recording session, is your classic victim pool.

Morris, who co-wrote the script with Corrie Hinschen (who plays Bloodface), sets up the slaughter that is about to unfold through flashbacks and we soon learn that Isla is a lot more complicated and carrying some heavy emotional baggage, which will come into play as the night unfolds.

We won’t give away the details, you will have to find out if there is a “final girl” and who the identity of the slasher/killer is (“Bloodface) by watching Bliss of Evil on Blu-ray from Bayview Entertainment on Oct. 17.

Let’s just say that you will not be disappointed as Bliss of Evil is one of the top indie films in this year’s Halloween season viewing entries.   Check it out!
