VCI Entertainment Readies Director Roland West's Pre-Code Theatrical Release Of The Bat Whispers For A Blu-ray Debut On June 11

VCI Entertainment has gone to the vaults for a rare film gem that will be making its Blu-ray debut on June 11.

This is none other than director Roland West’s 1930 (pre-code) film adaptation of the Mary Roberts Rinehart and Avery Hopwood 1920 stage play, “The Bat,” which was retitled for the screen as The Bat Whispers, starring Una Merker and Chester Morris. 

This was actually a remake of West’s own 1926 silent version … and genre fans will remember that Vincent Price and Agnes Moorehead delivered The Bat remake in 1959, which remains a classic to this day!

A DVD edition of The Bat Whispers will also be available on June 11.
