Li Yu Ran (Lun-Mei Gwei — Girlfriend Boyfriend, Christmas Rose, A Leg and Black Coal, Thin Ice) is a high-powered lawyer enjoying the good life when she suddenly awakes (after a car accident) and finds herself in the hand of “Fate” (think: Heaven Can Wait), where there has been a clerical mix-up of universal proportions. Her untimely death will all get sorted out, but it might take a week … or two.
In the meantime, she will inhabit the body of a recently deceased housewife, the mother of Xing Xing, “her” bad-tempered teenage daughter and Tian Tian, “her” young son. Despite the Station Masters (at the office of “Fate”) assurances that no will notice, it doesn’t quite work out that way!! Especially when Tian Tian begins to suspect that something is amiss.
This fantasy is great fun and quite a surprise. Beautiful Accident is presented in Mandarin with English subtitles.
