Wild Eye Releasing, with sales and distribution support provided by MVD Entertainment Group, is out early with two new Halloween-season DVD releases.   This gives Wild Eye plenty of time to beat those promotional drums and get genre fans ready for some fun — along with chills and thrills — this October.

First up is the Oct. 8 DVD debut of writer/director Mark Palonia’s latest addition to his series of films focusing on the terror visited by the various Selachimorpha species that inhabit the oceans of our planet.

Of course we are speaking of sharks, of which Palonia is no stranger … Sharkenstein, Land Shark, Shark Encounters of the Third Kind, Virus Shark, Jurassic Shark 2: Aquapocalypse and more, including last year’s hit shark creature feature, Cocaine Shark.

This time the terror can be savored in his film production of Mummy Shark, which combines the horror elements associated with the deep blue sea (and the dead-eyed creatures therein) with the tried and true terror elements associated with the mysteries of ancient Egypt (calling Imhotep).

Hidden for timeless centuries within an ancient Egyptian pyramid are the mummified remains of a species of shark, perhaps so unique that this Selachimorpha is not of this earth!  Beware the ancient curse!!

Bonus features include commentary by filmmaker Mark Palonia.

The second entry in Wild Eye Releasing’s Halloween film sweepstakes is cutting edge in its timing.   Not only does Catnato — making its DVD debut on Oct. 22 — catch the summer winds of director Lee Isaac Chung’s blockbuster remake of Twister (Twisters), but it also rides the Twitterverse waves of J.D. Vance’s “Cat” comments that sparked instant outrage!

Cats and twisters, who could ask for more!!

This anthology film features such CATastrophe “tails” as “Of Cats and Men,” “The Catburglar,” “Nightmare at 10,000 Feet,” “Apocalypse Meow,” “Crimes and Felines” and “Cosmic Catnado.”

If you enjoyed Sharkado, then Catnado will be like a double-dose of genre-fan catnip on DVD …. Oct. 22 from Wild Eye Releasing!
