The Sixth Sense opened theatrically in August of 1999, pulled in over $293 million at the box office, was released on DVD the following March and a Blu-ray edition finally surface at the end of September in 2008. The Oct. 22 rollout for the 4K Ultra HD release coincides with the film’s 25th anniversary.
Signs made its theatrical debut in August of 2002 and grossed $228 million in the domestic arena. The DVD hit stores in January of 2003 and the Blu-ray made its way to the physical media marketplace in June of 2008.
There appears to be no bonus materials associated with these 4K Ultra HD releases. And, for some odd reason, Disney has opened a premium VOD window on Aug. 27, which gives the “helper” community roughly two months to peddle their own “4K Ultra HD” editions … why do the equivalent of the paperback version before the hardcover, it makes little sense.
