Distribution will be heading back to court on May 13 with a full docket of six
Perry Mason cases.
The three-disc DVD
collection titled, Perry Mason Movie Collection: Volume 2, showcases six
feature-length investigations and trials that includes The Case of the Scandalous
Scoundrel, which finds Perry Mason suing scandal sheet publisher Harlan
Wade (Robert Guillaume) over an alleged affair with none other than Della
Street (Barbara Hale) … when Wade ends up dead a host of worthy suspects are in
the spotlight, but the police zero in on a former reporter (played by Michelle
Benti) who retains Mason to defend her in court!
Other cases in the
collection are: The Case of the Avenging Ace has Perry working on the appeal of
an old murder case when suddenly a key witness is also murdered; it’s Mason to the
rescue in The Case of the Lady in the Lake when tennis player Billy
Travis (David Hasselhoff) appears to be the only suspect in the murder of his
rich wife and in The Case of the Lethal Lesson we find Mason pulling double duty
as both a college instructor and the defender of one of his students accused of
a revenge murder.
Finishing up these murder
mysteries are The Case of the Musical Murder, where Mason is the witness to a
murder, but was heavily sedated for a knee operation at the time ... so his
testimony is out the window and he has to solve the case the old fashioned way.
And lastly, The
Case of the All-Star Assassin has Perry on thin ice in the defense of a
hockey player who is accused of killing the arena’s owner when negotiations
turn sour.
