Olive Films will be
releasing a total of six newly-prepared DVD and Blu-ray editions on Mar. 24 … film
buffs, fans and collectors will certainly have cause for celebration.
The Mar. 24 slate is
top-lined by the Blu-ray debut of auteur
filmmaker Robert Altman’s 1990 biopic, Vincent & Theo, starring Paul
Rhys and Tim Roth as the Van Gogh brothers, Theo and Vincent. A DVD edition will also be available.
Director John Flynn,
working with a script from Larry Cohen, delivered the crime thriller Best
Seller in 1987 … James Woods, Brian Dennehy and Victoria Tennant
star. Olive Films will be releasing both
DVD and Blu-ray SKUs for this one.
Other new Blu-ray and DVD
releases included in Mar. 24 mix are the 2010 documentary, John Ford: Dreaming the Quiet Man
(a nostalgic look back at director John Ford’s 1952 Best Picture nominee, The
Quiet Man); director Mick Jackson’s 1989 film release of Chattahoochee,
starring Gary Oldman, Dennis Hopper and Frances McDormand; filmmaker Wim
Wenders’ 1997 suspense thriller, The End of Violence, which teams
Gabriel Byrne with Andie MacDowell and Bill Pullman … and lastly, Robert Duvall
stars in director Peter Masterson’s 1991 film adaptation of the Horton Foote
stage play, Convicts (Lukas Haas and James Earl Jones co-star).
