Warner Bros. Home
Entertainment rings in the New Year with the Feb. 24 release announcement of
writer/director Sean Anders’ Horrible Bosses 2.
Planned are DVD and
Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack (with UltraViolet) editions, with the Blu-ray SKU featuring
two cuts of the film — the R-rated theatrical release and an unrated cut that clocks
in with an extra eight-minutes of excised footage.
The ARR is a
swift-to-market 88 days and ticket sales were a nice $53.1 million.
Nick (Jason Bateman),
Dale (Charlie Day) and Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) are back, but this time as their
own bosses. It doesn’t matter, the
“horrible” is still there as they get suckered into a ruinous business deal
with the father and son team of Bert and Rex Hanson (played by Christoph Waltz
and Chris Pine).
Of course their solution
to getting out from under the mess becomes far more complicated than they could
have ever anticipated. The
double-dealing quickly turns into a series of deadly double-crosses that leaves
the suckered business partners facing potentially stiff prison sentences.
Jennifer Aniston reprises
her role as the sex-addicted dentist, Jamie Foxx is back as their go-to guy
(who has plans of his own) and Kevin Spacey does a nice turn as their mentor,
who even in prison manages to get the best of the numbskull trio.
Bonus features include a
trio of featurettes — “Endless Laughter Guaranteed,” “Let the Sexual Healing
Begin” and “Off-the-Cuff: One-Liners You Didn't See.”
