Eagle Rock Entertainment
announced this past week that both DVD and Blu-ray editions of
singer/songwriter Sting’s April concert in Paris will be heading home on
Friday, Nov. 10.
Titled Sting:
Live at the Olympia Paris, the concert at the L'Olympia Bruno Coquatrix
venue was part of the “57th & 9th” promotional tour,
his 12th solo album (it hit the ninth spot on the Billboard
charts). Included in the mix were the
album’s breakout song, “I Can't Stop Thinking About You,” plus other selections
from the new album such as “Down, Down, Down,” “Pretty Young Soldier” and “One
Fine Day.”
Also counted among the
concert set were popular Police selections — “Synchronicity II,” “Spirits in
the Material World,” “Message in a Bottle” and “Walking on the Moon” — as well
Sting’s son, Joe Sumner, delivering a tribute to the late David Bowie with “Ashes
to Ashes.”
As to bonus goodies, Sting:
Live at the Olympia Paris, includes nine selections — Sting and Joe
Sumner teaming for “Heading South on the Great North Road” and Sumner going
solo with a three-song set, “Looking For Me, Looking For You,” “Don't Change the
Love” and “Jellybean” … and finally the bonus nuggets conclude with five from
The Last Bandoleros — “Maria,” “River Man,” “Take Me to It,” “I Don’t Want to
Know” and “Where Do You Go?”
