Arrow Video, with domestic sales and distribution support provided by MVD Entertainment Group, has a new 4K restoration of the late Wes Craven’s 1977 horror masterpiece, The Hills Have Eyes, ready for release as a Blu-ray product offering on Jan. 30.

This new film restoration was supervised by producer Peter Locke and it includes both the original ending and the alternate ending (an addition one minute and 19 seconds worth of running time).

As to other bonus features, there are no less than three commentary options.   The first features writer/director Wes Craven, who is joined by Peter Locke; the second includes actors Michael Berryman (Pluto), Janus Blythe (Ruby), Susan Lanier (Brenda Carter) and Martin Speer (Doug Wood), and the third commentary is provided by Dr. Mikel J. Koven (author of “Blaxploitation Film,” “Film, Folklore & Urban Legends,” etc.).

Also included are documentary filmmaker Perry Martin’s 2003 documentary titled Looking Back at The Hills Have Eyes, two newly-prepared video sessions titled “Family Business” (featuring Martin Speer) and “The Desert Sessions” (with composer Don Peake) and “never-before-seen” outtakes.
