Genre fans have been
waiting for it! Anticipating its
release!! And, Cleopatra Music &
Film, with sales and distribution support provided by MVD Entertainment Group,
will not disappoint them!
Just in time for the
Christmas-selling season, writer/director Harrison Smith’s Death House (from an
original script prepared by the late Gunnar Hansen … beloved by fans as
Leatherface from Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre) will
be making its DVD debut on Dec. 11.
The film got a very, very
limited theatrical showcase earlier this year and arrives in the home
entertainment marketplace with a snail pace ARR of 284 days.
If you come to Death
House based simply on its storyline — some mumbo jumbo about a house of
horrors prison for the worst of the worst and a pair of federal agents, Jae
Novak (Cody Longo— Wildflower) and Toria Boon (Cortney Palm — Everlasting), being
trapped inside its labyrinth of evil — it would be like going to Disneyland and
just riding around the parking structures.
No, Death House, which will
end up being a cult series (a prequel is already in the works), is a place
where genre stars gather for moments of gore.
The cast list is a who’s who of actors from the best of the best in the
way of horror classics — Sid Haig, Michael Berryman, Kane Hodder, Dee Wallace,
Tony Todd … it goes on and on. Even
legendary scream queen Debbie Rochon has fun here.
Indeed, a new game to be played
beginning on Dec. 11 goes something like this.
Zip over the IMDB and grab the complete cast list, make copies with
little check boxes and host a party of your genre-fan friends. When you spot someone on the list, you check
them off and for bonus points tick off their top films! Have fun!
