Lionsgate Home
Entertainment announced this past week that a three-SKU helping of director Otto
Bathurst’s Robin Hood will be ready for consumers to pick through on Feb.
19.
This is a re-imagining of
the Robin of Loxley fable — that would be the legendary Crusader (played by Taron
Egerton — Kingsman: The Secret Service, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Billionaire
Boys Club, etc.) who returned home with a Moorish companion (Jamie Foxx
— Baby
Driver, White House Down, etc.) and together they set about to right
the wrongs perpetrated by the Sheriff of Nottingham (Ben Mendelsohn) in his
absence.
The ARR is 88 days and
box office receipts from the film’s Thanksgiving Holiday launch currently stand
at $30.8 million. It did not perform as
was hoped by the studio during its theatrical run (perhaps the home
entertainment marketplace will be more receptive).
Planned for home
entertainment distribution are a stand-alone DVD edition, a Blu-ray/DVD Combo
Pack selection and a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack presentation.
Bonus features in include
deleted scenes, outtakes and the seven-part “documentary” titled “Outlaws and Auteurs: Reshaping Robin Hood.”
