20th Century-Fox Home Entertainment will
be directing the Blu-ray and DVD rollout of the Orion Pictures-produced remake
of Child’s Play on
Sept. 24. Direction is by Lars Klevberg
(his only other film is titled Polaroid,
which has yet to find domestic distribution).
The ARR for Child’s
Play comes in at 95 days and domestic ticket
sales were a lackluster $29.2 million.
This is the eighth entry in the series, which goes
all the way back to 1988 and the original Child’s
Play with Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky. Dourif remained as the iconic voice of
Chucky through the next six films and was replaced by Star Wars’
Mark Hamill for this reboot.
As to bonus features, there are four featurettes
— “The Making of Child’s Play,” “Bringing Child’s Play’s Chucky to Life,”
“Toy Massacre” and “A.I. Mayhem.”
