Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's 21 Jump Street And 22 Jump Street Will Be 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack Product Offerings On Sept. 22

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey
Hmmmm … could this be a pattern?

Two weeks ago, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment announced that writer/director Damien Chazelle’s Whiplash would be arriving on Sept. 22 as a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack edition.   That announcement was followed last week with the news that director Neill Blomkamp’s District 9 would be heading home as a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack presentation on Oct. 13.

You can now make it three weeks in a row as Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is doubling up on Sept. 15 with 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack presentations for both the directing team of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s 2012 action comedy, 21 Jump Street, and their 2014 follow-up, 22 Jump Street — both starring Channing Tatum as Greg Jenko and Jonah Hill as Morton Schmidt, undercover police officers who manage to bungle their way, successfully, through assignments thrown their way.

The 21 Jump Street 4K Ultra HD SKU is a feature-only for the 4K Ultra HD disc, while the Blu-ray companion disc contains the most current set of bonus features, which include commentary with Lord, Miller and the cast, a collection of 20 deleted scenes, a gag reel, and a half-dozen featurettes — “Back to School,” “Johnny Depp on Set,” “Cube-O-Rama,” “Brothers in Arms,” “Peter Pan on the Freeway” and “The Rob Riggle Show.”

The companion Blu-ray disc comes loaded with goodies as well, including commentary featuring directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who are joined by Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, 22 deleted or extended scenes, and a ton of featurettes, including “The Dramatic Interpretation of 22 Jump Street.”
