Cauldron Films, with sales and distribution support provided by MVD Entertainment Group, has selected Dec. 15 for the domestic Blu-ray debut of the directing team of Luciano and Nicolás Onetti’s neo-Giallo thriller, Abrakadabra.
For the Manzini family, when the magic fails, people die. Such was the case with Lorenzo Manzini’s father, Dante the Great (Raúl Gederlini), a great magician, was killed when his showcase trick went horribly wrong. BANG! … that’s the prologue set-up.
It’s now some 30 years later and the son, Lorenzo (Germán Baudino — Twisting the Aces, The Shadow Side, Dead Heart, etc.), is following in his father’s footsteps. However, instead of him meeting the same fate as his father, those around him are suddenly dying gruesome deaths … and he’s the chief suspect.
In traditional Giallo style, Luciano and Nicolás Onetti (who previously team on What the Waters Left Behind) deliver the goods with a bloody path of deaths, that will lead — very cleverly — all the way back to the tragic death of Lorenzo’s father. Can you solve the mystery? Abrakadabra on Blu-ray from Cauldron Films on Dec. 15 …
Abrakadabra is presented in Italian, with English subtitles (also available with an English-dubbed audio track. Bonus features include a CD of the film’s soundtrack and a behind-the-scenes featurette.
