Paramount Home Media Hints At Movie-Combo Promotions Heading Into 2021

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey

We don’t want to get too far out in front of what might be coming from Paramount Home Media during the first quarter of 2021, but if the DVD release news this week is a “hint” of what is to come … it is going be sweet.

First off, back in April, the studio acquired the Miramax film library.   They then had a massive Blu-ray title push back on Sept. 22 to re-launch a number of key films from this award-winning library.   These included Pulp Fiction, No Country for Old Men, Gangs of New York, Good Will Hunting and a whole bunch more, including a number of multiple film sets — Prophecy: The Complete Collection, Hellraiser 4 Movie Collection, etc.  All were reissued with terrific, must-own price points.

This week, Paramount Home Media signaled that they would be combining the Paramount and Miramax libraries to come up with winning combinations.    On Jan. 12 the first of these DVD library combinations — priced at just $9.98 — has been announced.

Titled Wayans Brothers: 2-Movie Collection, it features actor/director Keenen Ivory Wayans’ summer of 2000 comedy smash, Scary Movie and director Damien Dante Wayans comedy send-up, Dance Flick.   Stay tuned for more winning combo news (finger’s crossed).
