The Indiana Jones Film Franchise Gets A 4K Ultra HD Push From Paramount Home Entertainment On June 08

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey

The news was exceptionally good from Paramount Home Entertainment this past week.   All four films in the Dr. Henry Walton "Indiana" Jones, Jr., film franchise — better known to fans as simply Indiana Jones — will be heading home as a 4K Ultra HD collection in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Raiders of the Lost Ark on June 8

Each film in the series, Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008), has been remastered from the original film negatives.

The collection comes with a bonus Blu-ray disc containing previously available bonus goodies.   Counted among these are a ton of featurettes, including making-of and behind-the-scenes for the films in the series… clocking in at a whopping seven hours-worth of content.

But wait, the adventures continue with the newly-remastered Blu-ray of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – 20th Anniversary Edition, which will be available for fans of Angelina Jolie to enjoy on June 1.

Bonus features include commentary with director Simon West, deleted scenes, the U2 music video titled “Elevation” and five production featurettes — “Digging into Tomb Raider,” “Crafting Lara Croft,” “The Visual Effects of Tomb Raider,” “The Stunts of Tomb Raider” and “Are You Game?”

Also on June 1, both Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life will be available as double-disc 4K Ultra HD collection.
