Severin Films Picks Oct. 25 For The 4K Ultra HD Launch Of Director Peter Medak's The Changeling

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey
Severin Films, with sales and distribution support provided by MVD Entertainment Group, announced this past week that director Peter Medak’s 1980 supernatural thriller, The Changeling, starring George C. Scott and Trish Van Devere, will be heading home as a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack on Oct. 25.

This is a new 4K restoration from the film’s internegative.

The Changeling is a haunted house tale — based on the real-world experiences of Russell Hunter — that builds and builds the suspense in terms of the haunting and those things that go bump-in-the-night, but Medak also, in the storytelling process, unravels a mystery and a murder.

Bonus goodies include Severin Films’ David Gregory moderating the commentary option featuring director Peter Medak and producer Joel B. Michaels, plus there are six featurettes — “Exile on Curzon St.,” “The House on Cheesman Park,” “The Music of The Changeling,” “Building the House of Horror,” “The Psychotronic Tourist” and “Master of Horror Mick Garris on The Changeling” — and the 2018 Mórbido Fest interview with Peter Medak.

As an added bonus, there is a soundtrack CD of the film.
