Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment, with a nod to the Oscar telecast on Mar. 3, has selected Feb. 25 as the debut date for a 4K Ultra HD edition of director Milos Forman’s 1984 Best Picture winner, Amadeus.
Forman also won the Oscar for Best Director, plus F. Murray Abraham took home the gold for Best Actor and Peter Shaffer’s adaptation of the stage play earned him an Oscar as well.
Bonus features include the newly-prepared featurette titled “The Making of Amadeus” and the vintage featurette, “Amadeus: The Making of a Masterpiece.”
In other release news from Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment, director Jake Kasdan’s Christmas-themed adventure, Red One — an Amazon MGM Studios film production — will be guided to the physical media marketplace on Mar. 4.
This will be a full-spread launch featuring stand-alone DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD editions.
The ARR comes in at 109 days and the domestic box office take was right at $97 million. The VOD window opened on Dec. 12, just 27 days into the film’s theatrical run, which has given the “Helper” community a 12-week head start in pushing Blu-ray editions of their own making to unsuspecting consumers.
There appear to be no special features associated with the physical media launch of Red One.
