Mill Creek Entertainment
has a gold rush of priced-to-sell DVD collections planned for delivery to
retail during the month of October.
Kicking off the stampede
on Oct. 1 are ten double-disc, eight-film collections that are priced to own at
just $9.98 each (and that’s prior to retailer discounts). The “8 Movie Collection” promotional banner —
under which these film collections will be released — includes such descriptive
packaging labels as Captive Comedies, Deadly Desires, Failing Upward and Operation
Payback.
To give a sense of what
is included in each $9.98 set, 8 Movie Collection: Crimes of Passion
is loaded with star power and includes such thrillers as: Playing God (with David
Duchovny, Timothy Hutton and Angelina Jolie), Color of Night (Bruce
Willis), The Rich Man's Wife (Halle Berry), Consenting Adults (Kevin
Kline teams up with Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio), Bad Company (Ellen Barkin
and Laurence Fishburne), D.O.A. (Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid), Deceived
(Goldie Hawn) and The Tie That Binds (Daryl Hannah).
