Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Sets White House Down And Breaking Bad: The Final Season For Both DVD And Blu-ray In Nov.

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey
Instead of just involving the White House or just blowing it up, this time director Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow) goes primarily inside of it.   And then blows it up.

White House Down comes to DVD and Blu-ray Disc Nov. 5 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, and fans will want to go with the Blu-ray on this one, getting more than an hour’s worth of bonus features, include an exclusive gag reel and nine exclusive making-of featurettes.    Both the DVD and Blu-ray feature four featurettes.

The ARR works out to 130 days and the box office take was $72.8 million.

Channing Tatum (21 Jump Street, Magic Mike) is a Capitol Hill officer who just got shut down from his dream job: Secret Service agent for the President (Jamie Foxx).   Before he can leave the White House with his tail tucked between his legs, a heavily armed paramilitary group attempts a hostile take-over — he’s in the right place and wrong time, but makes the most of it.

Also getting a swift-to-market push is Breaking Bad: The Final Season, which just launched its final cable run on Aug. 11.   Both DVD and Blu-ray sets will be available to own on Nov. 26.

Bonus features include commentary on all eight episodes, four featurettes — “The Main Event,” “The Final Showdown,” “Life of a Show Runner” and “Behind-the-Scenes of the Alternate Ending” — deleted and extended scenes, a gag reel and a three-minute alternate ending (which seems very intriguing).

A complete Blu-ray collection will also street on Nov. 26 featuring all 62 episodes in the series in special packaging with exclusive bonus features unique to the collection.
