DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey
Mill Creek Entertainment has wasted little time in expanding its August release slate of priced-to-collect DVD product offerings.

The first wave, set for delivery on Aug. 4, was announced last week and featured director Matt Holwick’s Designer Pups as well as the James Spader Three Movie Collection, which includes Storyville, The New Kids and Alien Hunter.

The four new entries in Mill Creek Entertainment’s popular “TV Guide Spotlight” series — TV Guide Spotlight: TV's Greatest Game Shows, TV Guide Spotlight: TV's Greatest Crime Stoppers, TV Guide Spotlight: TV's Greatest Animal Stars and TV Guide Spotlight: TV's Greatest Westerns — have been shifted to Aug. 18.

All four “TV Guide Spotlight” DVD collections are priced at just $9.98 each.

For sports fans, Aug. 4 also brings two triple-feature releases (the SRP is just $9.98 each) — Baseball Triple Play includes Kill the Umpire (1950, starring William Bendix and Una Merkel), The Jackie Robinson Story (also 1950, with Jackie Robinson and Ruby Dee) and Safe at Home! (1962, starring Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle).

TKO Boxing Triple Feature includes Requiem for a Heavyweight (1962, with Anthony Quinn, Jackie Gleason, Mickey Rooney and Julie Harris), Golden Boy (1939, William Holden and Barbara Stanwyck star, along with Adolphe Menjou and Lee J. Cobb) and The Joe Louis Story (1953, Coley Wallace as Joe Louis).
