MIG Music (aka: Made in Germany Music), with domestic sales
and distribution expertise provided by MVD Entertainment Group, has selected
Friday, Mar. 10 as the street date for a trio of vintage Rockpalast concert
presentations on DVD.
Kicking off the proceedings is the DVD/2 CD Combo Pack
release of George Thorogood & The Destroyers: Live At Rockpalast - Dortmund
1980. This 15 song set was
recorded live on Nov. 26 at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund, Germany.
Included in the concert mix from the group’s More
George Thorogood and The Destroyers album (released the previous month,
hence the concert tour) are: “I'm Wanted,” “Kids From Philly,” “Night Time,”
“Goodbye Baby” and “Bottom of the Sea.”
Vintage numbers include “One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer,” “Can't Stop
Lovin'” and “Madison Blues” from the 1977 album, George Thorogood and the
Destroyers, and from the 1978 release of Move it on Over we have
“Cocaine Blues” and “Who Do You Love.”
Next in the Mar. 10 release mix from MIG Music is DVD/CD
Combo Pack release of Pat Travers: Live At Rockpalast - Cologne
1976.
This 11-song set was recorded live on Nov. 4, 1976 and
features selections from his self-titled debut LP Pat Travers (released earlier
in the same year). Included in the mix
are: “As My Life Flies,” “Stop and Smile,” “Feelin' Right,” “Boom Boom” and
“Makes No Difference.” There was also a
preview of what would follow on his 1977 album Makin’ Magic with renditions
of “Hooked on Music” and “Rock And Roll
Susie.”
Rounding out the trio of Mar. 10 releases from MIG Music is
the DVD/2 CD Combo Pack release of Champion Jack Dupree: Live At Rockpalast - Cologne
1980. This 17-song set was
retrieved from the archives of WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk) and digitally
remastered for this release.
Selections include his unique renditions of “Ain’t That A
Shame,” “On Blueberry Hill,” “Rockin’ the Boogie” and “Down By The Riverside.”
The accompanying CDs are an audio presentation of the DVD
concert set.
