Which would you prefer? The frying pan or the fire, an age-old
question that takes on new meaning on Sept. 29 with Cleopatra Entertainment,
with sales and distribution support provided by MVD Entertainment Group, releases
director Julian Richards’ Daddy’s Girl on
DVD.
Zoe (Jemma Dallender — I Spit on
Your Grave 2, Disappearance, The Executioners) is
faced with exactly that, the “frying pan” when her whack-job of a stepfather,
John Stone (Costas Mandylor — as Kenny in the Picket
Fences TV series, plus such films as Virtuosity, Mobsters, The
Pledge and as Hoffman in a number of the Saw
films), makes her his emotional prisoner and “helper.”
The “fire” part is her “beloved” stepfather is a
vicious, sadistic serial killer.
Seriously, he sweet-talks pretty young things into coming back to his
place so that he can torture and kill them.
Zoe is forced, it seems (no giving away plot elements here), to become
part of his lifestyle.
The pattern works like this, he brings a young woman
back to his place (picked up at a local bar), who is locked up and prepped to
be “worked” on. Enter Zoe, who offers
the latest victim a choice. Kill
yourself, or suffer at the hands of my stepfather an unimaginable death.
What happens when one of these young women picks
option three — fight back! What happens
when a local cop begins to notice patterns and starts asking questions? What happens? A third act that makes Daddy’s
Girl unique; a one-of-a-kind serial killer/horror
film gem!!
Sept. 29, on DVD from Cleopatra Entertainment … be
sure to check it out.
