Covid-19 claims another victim. Well, maybe that’s a little too
dramatic.
How about a major studio animated film gets
sidetrack to direct-to-video status as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This time it is director Tony Cervone’s CGI animated
adventure Scoob!, a
film that had a six-year production schedule (beginning in 2014) and was slated
for a theatrical launch in May of this year … but we know the all-too-familiar
story about such things. No theatres,
no theatrical release.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment announced this past
week that this Shaggy and Scooby-Doo mystery will be heading home as a
three-disc array of home entertainment packaged media products on July 21.
Planned for release are Combo Pack editions for the
4K Ultra HD (with Blu-ray) and Blu-ray (with DVD) formats, plus a stand-alone
DVD selection.
Bonus features common to all three Scoob! SKUs
is the featurette titled “How To Draw Scooby Doo.” Exclusive to the two Combo Pack editions are
a blooper reel, deleted scenes and two additional featurettes — “New Friends,
New Villains” and “Puppies!!”
