Mill Creek Entertainment Targets Sept. 17 For The Six-Disc Ultraman Ginga Blu-ray Debut

DVD & Blu-ray Release Report, Ralph Tribbey
Wow!   In a word, Wow!!   Mill Creek Entertainment has put together a package that will have “Ultraman” fans leaping for joy on Sept. 17.

On Blu-ray, a six-disc collection — and yes, complete with Digital Copy — you will get two complete Ultraman series, a mini-series and a feature film, all in one collection.

So let us unpack this and see what treasures Mill Creek Entertainment has included here.   First, we have Ultraman Ginga, the 25th series installment, released in Japan in 2013 and featuring 28 episodes  — this timed to mark the 50th Anniversary of Tsuburaya Productions.

A great war between the Ultramen and the many monsters and aliens that fans of the series have come to know, raged on, but suddenly a mysterious creature put an end to war by turning all of the participants into “Spark Dolls.”   Hikaru Rido (Takuya Negishi) discovers the “Ginga Spark,” which could return both the good and bad to their giant forms … what to do?  What to do, indeed!!

Up next is Ultraman Ginga S, which followed in 2014 and features the further adventures of Hikaru Rido as encapsulated in 18 additional episodes.

No sooner had Ultraman Ginga S wrapped up when Tsuburaya Productions returned with a “mini series” of 13 episodes, which was titled Ultra Fight Victory … it’s a little confusing, but fans loved.

The 10 Ultra Warriors!, which showcases the Ultraman Ginga and Ultraman Victory in their combined efforts to stop the beautiful, but every evil alien Super Dimensional Demon Etelgar.   It is an edge-of-your-seat adventure … the outcome is (without giving anything away here) not a certainty that Ultraman Ginga and Ultraman Victory will prevail.

There you have it.   Sept. 17 on Blu-ray from Mill Creek Entertainment!
