Nozomi Entertainment, with sales and distribution expertise provided by Bayview Entertainment, has locked into Oct. 5 for the domestic Blu-ray debut of anime filmmaker Koichi Mashimo’s The Irresponsible Captain Tylor series, featuring all 26 episodes.
This four-disc Blu-ray collection is based on author Hitoshi Yoshioka’s series of “The Most Irresponsible Man in Space” novels.
The United Planets Space Force gets an accidental recruit by the name of Justy Ueki Tylor, who was supposed to be just a clerk, but ended up in the middle of a hostage crisis that, by miracles of miracles, he was able to resolve. As a reward, Tylor is given command of the near-derelict space cruiser, Soyokaze, but through a series of “fortunate” events (dumb luck) he manages to exceed all expectations.
The Irresponsible Captain Tylor is presented with its original Japanese language track (with English subtitles), as well as the English-dubbed version. Each episode includes clean openings and closings.
