Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has selected Halloween as the street date for a full spread of home entertainment packaged media buying options for director Ángel Manuel Soto’s DC Studios production of Blue Beetle.
The ARR comes in at 74 days and the domestic box office haul currently stands at $67.3 million against a reported production budget of $104 million (Deadline Hollywood). This will likely be a one-off entry in the “DC Extended Universe” super hero realm.
The physical media launch features stand-alone 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD selections (no Combo Packs). And, a “helper” window has been inserted on Sept. 26 in the form of VOD purchasing and renting options … you can take it to the bank that illicit Blu-ray editions will be on the street 30 days prior to the arrival of the authorized Warner versions.
Bonus features include the four-part production documentary titled “Generations: Blue Beetle” and a pair of featurettes — “Nana Knows Best” and the two-parter titled “Scarab Vision.”
