Lionsgate Home Entertainment is the first to ring in the New Year with street date news for director Francis Lawrence’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
A full-spread of physical media product offerings will arrive on the eve of Valentine’s Day (Feb. 13). The ARR for that mid-February launch date works out to 88 days. Domestic box office receipts are an impressive $159.9 million.
Planned for distribution are Combo Pack editions for both the 4K Ultra HD (with Blu-ray) and Blu-ray (with DVD) formats, plus a stand-alone DVD buying option is also in the mix.
Bonus features include commentary with filmmaker Francis Lawrence (Red Sparrow, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2), who is joined by producer Nina Jacobson (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Hunger Games, Crazy Rich Asians), plus an eight-part making-of documentary titled Predator or Prey: Making The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
There are also three featurettes — “The Music of The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,” “The Costumes of The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” and “The Casting of The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” — plus the Rachel Zegler music video titled “The Hanging Tree.”
