Throw a party.   Make it a 50th Anniversary celebration … but keep it a secret (wink wink, nod nod).

That’s what The Residents’ own label, Cryptic, will be showcasing on Feb. 16 with the DVD/CD Combo Pack release of The Residents: Secret Show – Live in San Francisco.   MVD Entertainment Group will be guiding the sales and distribution efforts.

On January 14, 2023 the iconic rock and performance art group, The Residents, held a 50th Anniversary bash at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.   It was an event that featured a mix of their “classics” — so much to choose from when you have a recording career that spans five decades and 60 albums — special guests (nope, no reveals here … you’ve got to catch this show for that), “performances” (oh my, what a treat as only The Residents can deliver) and more.

The set list is a love letter to the fans — this is a keepsake live concert/performance — that kicks off with “Would We be Alive?,” (dating back to 1982, with various “re-arrangements” in 1997, 2005 and 2013), followed by “Semolina,” “Santa Dog,” “Hungry Hound” and more.   Interspersed throughout are guest performances and “performance art” that is unique to the culture of The Residents.

If you are a fan (legions; generational thing), then Feb. 16 must be circled on your calendar.   That’s the “arrival date” for this fan-centric treat, The Residents: Secret Show – Live in San Francisco!!!
