Entertainment has a Blu-ray edition of James Cagney’s 1942 Best Actor
Oscar-winning biopic, Yankee Doodle Dandy, lined for
release on Oct. 14.
The film was nominated
for eight Oscars, including Best Picture (losing out to Mrs. Miniver) and Best
Director (Michael Curtiz) and in addition to Cagney’s win, the film also
captured Oscar gold for Best Sound and Best Music.
Bonus features include
commentary from film historian Rudy Behlmer, the documentary titled Let
Freedom Sing!: The Story of Yankee Doodle Dandy, the classic Looney
Tunes cartoon, Bugs Bunny Gets the Boid, a vintage newsreel from the period
and more!
