Cleopatra Entertainment, with sales and distribution expertise provided by MVD Entertainment Group, announced this past week that director Jesse Palangio’s sci-fi thriller, Blood and Snow, will be available on June 11 as both DVD and Blu-ray product offerings.
A meteorite has slammed into the vast Arctic reaches of northern Canada and two scientists, including one by the name of Megan (Brooke Chamberlain — The Dunes, My Reprisal, Daddy’s Little Girl), are dispatched to investigate the crash site.
A “tragic” accident occurs and only Megan is able to make it back to a remote research facility where she is given medical aid.
What we have here is your classic “haunted house” thriller. This requires a remote location, not necessarily a spooky haunted house, a far-from-civilization research facility will do nicely. And the other element, besides the crazed killer, monster or alien being, is a victim pool, which, in this case, takes the form of the researchers at the remote lab.
Included in the group are the “Professor,” played by Vernon Wells (I Can, Ghost, Transmission), a husband and wife team (Adam Huel Potter and Brianna Ripley) and others, including Simon Phillips (who also co-wrote the script), Michael Swatton and Anne-Carolyne Binette.
It doesn’t take long before the “victim” pool discovers that their guest, Megan, has been “infected” by an alien being with a murderous disposition. It’s not that she is a grunting beast, but rather calm and cunning … one asks, “Who are you?” The reply by Megan, “The first,” followed by a pause … “of many.” Chills!
Will the “final girl” be Megan? To find out who lives and who dies be sure to check out Blood and Snow on June 11 when it arrives as both DVD and Blu-ray viewing selections from Cleopatra Entertainment.
