It is party time! The release news from Paramount Home Entertainment this past week is news that we can all celebrate … news that we can have some fun with! Yup, it’s party time!!
There are two new 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack releases heading home on June 25 featuring the creative talents of Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the “genius” force behind the long-running South Park animated series.
First up is their 1999 animated feature directed by Parker, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut: 25th Anniversary Edition. Starring the clan from South Park, the film — besides being incredibly funny — made history on two fronts.
First, it was the highest grossing “R-rated” animated film in history (at the time) and second, it was nominated for an Oscar (Best Song — “Blame Canada”).
Bonus features include commentary by Stone and Parker, the “What Would Brian Boitano Do?” music video and the option of viewing the film in “Sing-A-Long” mode.
The other party time celebration happening on June 25 from Paramount Home Entertainment is the 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack debut of Team American: World Police – 20th Anniversary Edition. Uncensored! Unrated!!
Bonus delights include deleted and extended scenes, outtakes and nine vintage featurettes — “Team America: An Introduction,” “Building the World,” “Crafting the Puppets,” “Pulling the Strings,” “Capturing the Action,” “Miniature Pyrotechnics,” “Up Close with Kim Jong-Il,” “Dressing Room Test” and “Puppet Test.”
