Rock legend Robin Trower — of Procol Harum fame — and long-time solo artist was approached by Alan Robinson, his manager (Manhaton Records) with a request … could you write a song or two for blues/rock artist Sari Schorr. That requested ended up being Trower’s latest album, “Joyful Sky” (his 27th album … plus eight more with Procol Harum). The album dropped in October of last year.
To celebrate, Trower did something that he does rarely, produce a video recording of one his live concerts. This took place in the UK at the Harlington Arts Centre, Fleet, Surrey in September of last year just before “Joyful Sky” was released.
On stage with Sari Schorr, the duo deliver a 12-song set, including eight numbers from the “Joyful Sky” album, plus four Trower classic recordings — “No More Worlds to Conquer” (2022), “Day of the Eagle” (1974), “Bridge of Sighs” (1974) and “Rise Up Like the Sun” (1994).
Bonus features with the DVD and Blu-ray release of Robin Trower in Concert with Sari Schorr from MVD Entertainment Group on May 17 include video sessions with both Robin Trower and Sari Schorr.
