Universal Studios Home
Entertainment is closing out the year with two product announcements for recent
theatrical releases. Streeting On Feb.
4 is director Richard Curtis’ romantic time travel tale, About Time, while
writer/director Malcolm D. Lee’s reunion comedy, The Best Man Holiday
follows one week later on Feb. 11.
The former is the far
more interesting of the two, while the latter posted the bigger box office
numbers … regardless, it’s a nice one-two punch leading up to the Valentine’s
Day promotional period.
About Time arrives as a DVD and as a Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack
(both with UltraViolet) … the ARR is 95 days and ticket sales were $15.2
million. Bonus features include
commentary from Curtis, who is joined by cast members Domhnall Gleeson, Bill Nighy,
Vanessa Kirby, Lydia Wilson and Tom Hollander, plus there is a blooper reel, a
pair of music videos and deleted scenes.
The Best Man Holiday has the same SKU configuration, but the box
office take was considerably greater at $69 million. The ARR is a zippy 88 days.
